Title: the mocking Jay
Plot: Mocking Jay is the story of Katniss Everdeen and the people of Panem who rebel against the all mighty Capitol. It is a story that is portrayed from the perspective of 17-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who decides early on in the story that she will be the face of this rebellion; the mocking jay. A main character in the other two books in the series is Peeta Merlark, who is taken prisoner by the Capitol, he is tortured, this is broadcasted to the Rebels, which finds the eye of Katniss, her “star-crossed lover” is helpless as the capitol inflicts pain on Peeta.
The rebels receive a hidden code from Peeta that the Capitol is planning an attack on District 13, and they do, they harshly bombed District 13. Katniss makes a commercial (apropos) attempting to rally the people of Panem. The Rebels go into the Capitol and bring Peeta and some other rebels back into District 13, but the capitol has brainwashed Peeta and he tries to kill Katniss at his first sight. Katniss then goes to District 2 to attend a meeting that will depict how they attack the Capitol, then they are assaulted and Katniss is shot. She would later recover and then begins training into a new group with Gale and Finnick… and Peeta. Katniss is afraid for her life, Peeta hates Katniss.
The Commander for Katniss’s group is killed, but on his deathbed grants Katniss the commander position. Katniss thinks of a plan for the assassination of President Snow, but it ends up a failure as they tried to walk into the Capitol and where shut down; many people were killed, including that of Katniss’s sister, Primrose. Katniss feels extreme sorrow; this is amplified by the fact that the weapon that killed Primrose may have been Gale’s, so she can never forgive him. A positive aspect of this attack is that they capture President Snow and execute him, not as planned though. You see, Katniss called dibs on personally killing Snow at the beginning of the book, but before she does she pays him a visit, in which he convinces that Prim’s death was President Coin’s doing, so she instead of killing snow, turns at the last second and kills Coin. After this Katniss suffers some sort of breakdown and returns to District 12 with Peeta and Haymitch, Gale disappears to another district, and Katniss goes on to marry Peeta and they have kids
